How to pick teams fairly
Random picking is the quickest option: the names get shuffled and dealt out to the teams one by one. Great when everyone's roughly the same level, or when you just want to mix things up.
For balanced teams, give each player a strength from 1 to 5. The players are sorted from strongest to weakest and dealt out snake-style – A, B, B, A – so the two best players never end up on the same side. Tip: keep the ratings to yourself; nobody needs to see them.
Odd number of players? One team simply gets an extra player. In balanced mode, the extra player goes to the team with the lower total strength, so it all evens out.

How do I split players into balanced teams?
Give each player a strength from 1 to 5 and choose Balanced. The picker sorts players from strongest to weakest and deals them out snake-style, so the teams end up as even as possible.
Is the draw really random?
Yes. It uses cryptographic randomness right in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is saved.
How many teams can I pick?
Two, three or four – just choose the number of teams.
Can teams be picked straight from attendance?
